Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the On-Page SEO Auditor browser extension ("the extension", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. By installing the extension and completing the sign-in form, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

When you first use the extension, you are asked to sign in once. At that point we collect:

• Name - the name you type into the form.
• Email address - the email you type into the form.
• IP address - your public IP address, detected automatically using a third-party lookup service (see section 6).
• Timestamp - the date and time you signed in.

We do not collect passwords, payment details, browsing history, or any personal data beyond the fields listed above.

2. Page content is analysed on your device only

To perform SEO audits, the extension reads content from the web page you are viewing (headings, meta tags, images, links, and similar on-page elements). This analysis happens entirely within your browser. Page content is not transmitted to us or to any third party, and it is not stored. The extension only reads the active tab when you open it.

3. How we use your information

• To provide access to the extension's tools after sign-in.
• To identify who is using the tool and to contact you about it.
• To understand usage and improve our services.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How your information is stored and shared

The name, email, IP address, and timestamp you submit are sent to a web endpoint we operate (built on Google Apps Script) and are recorded in a private Google Sheet and sent to us by email. This data is processed using Google services (Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, and Gmail), acting as our data processor. We share this information only with these service providers as needed to operate the tool, and where required by law.

5. Local storage on your device

After you sign in, a record of your submission is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This is used only to remember that you have already signed in, so the form is not shown to you again. This local copy stays on your device and can be removed by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension.

6. Third-party services

The extension uses the following third-party services:

• IP address lookup - ipify and, as a fallback, ipapi, used to detect your public IP address.
• Google - Google Apps Script, Google Sheets, and Gmail, used to receive and store your submission. See Google's Privacy Policy.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

7. Permissions the extension requests

• activeTab and scripting - to read the current page when you open the extension, so it can run the SEO audit and draw highlights.
• storage - to remember locally that you have signed in.
• Access to api.ipify.org and ipapi.co - to detect your IP address.

8. Data retention

Submitted sign-in data is retained in our Google Sheet and email records for as long as needed to operate the tool and manage our relationship with users. You may request deletion at any time (see section 9).

9. Your rights and choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you submitted by contacting us at the address below. You can also remove the locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing its data.

10. Children

The extension is intended for professional use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
